WINDOWS VISTA COMPATABILITY
The following libraries are fully-compatible with Windows Vista:
- Christian Library Series Volumes 1-20 (Download and CD-ROM Editions)
- Garrett's Systematic Theology
- Babylonian Talmud
- Baptist History Collection
- Collected Writings of John Gill 2.0
- Renn's Expository Dictionary of Bible Words
- Little Books Collection
If you have an older version of an AGES Software Digital Library - in particular one marked for compatibility with Windows 95/98/ME - you may still be able to use the library with Windows Vista although additional configuration steps will be necessary:
- Download and install a Vista-compatible version of Adobe Reader. Click here for a free download (link opens new window).
- Run the setup program on the AGES Software disc. When you get to the Select Components screen, remove the check marks next to Reader Software, Pagemark and Locator Plug-ins, and Foreign Fonts. These components on older discs are not compatible with Vista. Note: On some discs you may need to click "Advanced" to deselect these components.
- If the older setup program will not run in Windows Vista, Click here and follow the "Manual Installs" instructions to manually install your library.
- Disc not recognized: In some cases a computer running Windows Vista may not recognize an older AGES Library disc. This is most often true of Master Christian Library 8, Disc 1. AGES Library is still researching this issue and does not have a solution at this time. We recommend that you try updating the driver for your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, or continue using the library with a computer running Windows XP or older.
- 64-bit computers: If your computer runs a 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, some older setup programs may not run. If you receive an error message stating that the setup program is not a 32- or 64-bit application, you must perform a manual installation. First, download and install a newer version of Adobe Reader as described in Step 1. Next, open My Computer or Windows Explorer, and then open the icon for your CD-ROM drive. Right-click the Librarian PDF file and choose Send To, Desktop (Shortcut) from the menu that appears. This creates a new shortcut icon on your desktop. Use that icon to open the library. You may rename the icon if you wish. Click here for a list of Librarian File Names.
