WINDOWS VISTA COMPATABILITY

AGES Library is still in the process of testing all features of AGES Digital Libraries with Windows Vista, the latest version of Microsoft's operating system. To date, all indications are that AGES Libraries which are compatible with Windows XP are also fully-compatible with Windows Vista. These include:

If you encounter a problem while trying to install one of the above listed AGES Digital Libraries, the problem is most likely not related to Windows Vista. Please consult the Top Help Questions on our Web site, and if your questions are not answered there please contact AGES Technical Support with your question.

If you have an older version of an AGES Software Digital Library - in particular one marked for compatibility with Windows 95/98/ME - you may still be able to use the library with Windows Vista although additional configuration steps will be necessary:

  1. Download and install a Vista-compatible version of Adobe Reader. Click here for a free download (link opens new window).
  2. Run the setup program on the AGES Software disc. When you get to the Select Components screen, remove the check marks next to Reader Software, Pagemark and Locator Plug-ins, and Foreign Fonts. These components on older discs are not compatible with Vista. Note: On some discs you may need to click "Advanced" to deselect these components.
  3. If the older setup program will not run in Windows Vista, Click here and follow the "Manual Installs" instructions to manually install your library.
  4. Disc not recognized: In some cases a computer running Windows Vista may not recognize an older AGES Library disc. This is most often true of Master Christian Library 8, Disc 1. AGES Library is still researching this issue and does not have a solution at this time. We recommend that you try updating the driver for your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, or continue using the library with a computer running Windows XP or older.
