PASSOVER
OT WORDS
pesah
pesah is the standard Hebrew term for the "Passover festival," referring to the annual ritual celebration of Yahweh’s deliverance of his people from the Egyptians. It occurs about fifty times, referring to the historical setting for the festival (cf. Exo. 12:11, 21 ff.); the legislation prescribing the details of the feast (cf. Lev. 23: 5; Num. 9: 2 ff.; Deu. 16: 1 ff.); and the celebration of the feast itself (cf. Jos. 5:11; 2Ki. 23:21 ff.; 2Ch. 30: 1 ff.; 35:1 ff.; Ezr. 6:19 ff.).
NT WORDS

pascha is the dynamic equivalent Greek term for the Hebrew pesah (see above) and refers about thirty times to the celebration of the Passover festival (cf. Mat. 26: 2, 17 ff.; Mar. 14:14 ff.; Luk. 22: 1 ff.; Joh. 2:13; 6:4; 12:1; 13:1; 18:28, 39; Act. 12: 4; 1Co. 5: 7; Heb. 11:28).
